Hi friends,
Next weekend, we’ll be walking through Busan with film cameras in hand, each person creating their own images, but together building a project that belongs to the whole group.
The idea is simple, but a little unusual: eight photographers, each bringing their own camera to be loaded with the same film stock. What makes the photos different will be the person behind the camera. Their skills, their style, and the way they see the city.
Guiding us is Anastasia Khan, a photographer who’s lived here since 2001 and knows Busan’s streets and hidden corners like few others. Over 2–3 hours, she’ll lead us through places she loves to shoot, including some areas of the city that don’t typically get a tourists attention.
After the walk, all eight rolls will be developed at Hertz35, and we’ll gather at Cafe Han Dee for coffee, rest, and conversation. That’s where the second part of this project begins: selecting and sharing images together, and preparing for a group exhibition at Cafe Han Dee. Each photographer will print 3–4 photos, and decide on a date to hold the exhibition.
Seven of the eight spots are already filled, but there’s still one place left if you’d like to join this project from the start. Best of all, working with Cafe Han Dee has allowed us to cover the costs of film and developing with local funding provided by Busanjin Cultural Foundation. The only cost involved will be printing the selected images for the exhibition.

Now I just have to hope the weather holds up for Saturday! I’ll share the results of the exhibition in another newsletter once it all wraps up.
Thanks for taking the time to read this,

PS: For those of you in Busan who would like to join the walk, but can’t take part in the exhibition or don’t have a film camera, we have room for a few more people to tag along. If you’d like to join us, you can contact me directly.
